A little more information….
After focusing on change at local and national levels I found myself working at the global level where I spent a number of years working with people in over 140 countries to find collective solutions to our collective problems. Along the way I garnered degrees from Yale University (BA, History) and the London School of Economics and Political Science (MS, International Relations).
Many years of meditation and the birth of my children led me to pursue a degree in Integral Counseling Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies (MA, Integral Counseling Psychology). I wanted to “be” the change I was working to see in the world. From there I focused on counseling families and adolescents as well as adults and couples.
Having worked at both “macro” and “micro” levels, I see the the profound connection between our thoughts and feelings at an individual level and our impact on our families, our workplaces and our communities. Without knowledge of our own “system” we flail around trying to do good and often failing in spite of our good intentions. By finding our path to well-being we each have the ability to positively impact our families, our communities and even our world.
My purpose is helping clients find their way out of anxiety or depression, stress or trauma, conflict or alienation so that they can live at peace with themselves and those around them. I’ve helped many families with young children as well as worked with adolescents in middle and high school. I have personally experienced the power of good couples counseling (as well as the reality of divorce) and take a particular interest in the incredible growth that is made possible by intimate partnerships.
